Position Title: Library Director Summary of job responsibilities Organizes, directs, controls and promotes the activities of the City's Library system. Initiates and coordinates programs; advises the Board on pertinent issues, and gives monthly reports on library operations, attends meetings, and participates in fundraising events.

Advancement Library technicians and assistants may advance to become supervisors and oversee daily library operations. Actively seeks grants, gifts, and other new sources of non-tax funding for the library.

Library Resources & Technical Services

In a traditional library building, a user has access to a catalog that will help locate a book. Advises, consults, and confers with the Library Board, other libraries, professionals, officials at State and local levelscitizens, and community groups.

It offers an overview of several types of traditional libraries and explains how libraries collect, organize, and make accessible their collections.

No overdue fines are charged for materials returned after their due date. Study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be reserved. Work varies, requiring interpretive judgment: has significant opportunity for discretion and independent action.

April The library’s Technical Services staff moves to its new headquarters in New Haven’s Science Park. Other staff begin relocating to temporary office spaces in preparation for the building closure.

Stacks Maintenance – Re-shelves materials that have been returned to the library after patron use and shelves materials that have been processed by Technical Services.

We are librarians. We are catalogers. We are administrators and supervisors, often of fairly large units.

We are also paraprofessionals and clerical people, working. Library. The Forsyth Tech library is located on the 1st floor of Ardmore Hall on Main Campus. The library contains reference materials and a large collection of fiction and non-fiction books that are available for checkout by students, faculty and staff.
